Key Maintenance Items You Can Check on Your Own

Throughout your ownership of your GMC vehicle, there are a few things you can do to continue to get the most out of it for years to come. For starters, there are the exterior lights. Make sure each one is in proper working order by conducting a quick visual inspection. You can also take a good look at the windshield to ensure there aren’t any cracks or chips present that should be addressed. Once you’ve done this, run the windshield wipers for a moment to make sure they’re working as they should.

Every 7,500 Miles

Has your GMC just passed or coming up on its first 7,500 miles? If it is, it’s due to have its engine oil and oil filter changed. This task should be completed on a regular basis because, as oil ages, it loses its ability to clean, cool, and lubricate the inside of the engine.  Don’t forget to have the tires rotated at this time as well. Doing so will extend their lifespan by ensuring that wear and tear is spread evenly across each tire’s surface.

GMC Maintenance Guide

Every 22,500 Miles

Upon reaching 22,5000 miles, your car’s passenger compartment air filter will need to be switched out. Do your regular drives involve a lot of traffic? Are there high dust levels or environment allergens where you live? If the answer is yes to any of these questions, have this action done sooner.

GMC Maintenance Guide

Every 97,500 Miles

At 97,500 miles, all the spark plugs should be replaced and every spark plug wire and boot needs to be checked to make sure they’re working properly.
